our kindergartner

our kindergartner

There she is…our little kindergartner.

I’m not going to lie to you. I’ve been a little teary at times over the last week. Reagan asked me yesterday “to please not cry at school tomorrow.” I think I surprised it all and didn’t shed a tear. It’s certainly bittersweet. I know how excited she is to be a school, but our house is so quiet today. Emmy and I ran all of errands alone this morning. Emmy kept telling anyone who would talk to her, “Reagan…Rea Rea…gone.” We’re both really looking forward to picking her up in a couple hours and hearing all about her first day of school.

I still can’t believe that Rea is old enough to be in Kindergarten. She was so excited and so grown up about going to school this morning.

She’s going to Providence Elementary…home of the Patriots. School colors are red, white and blue. School mascot is Patriot the lion. Her teacher is Mrs. Jackson.

Today is going to be a GREAT day!

She was very excited to go this morning. I have to say it is nice that school is only 3 minutes from home.

So, I had to take a photo of Rea in front of the school. At least I didn’t make her stand by the big sign by the side of the road like the other moms. :)

I surprised myself and didn’t go overboard with photos this morning. Rea would probably disagree with that. :)

a sad goodbye

a sad goodbye

Emmy was the only one to shed a few tears this morning. She cried all the way to the car. Then she realized she had free reign to ride in Reagan’s carseat. The tears stopped and the smile was back. :)

out of the mouth of Reagan

After our trip to the school to meet Rea’s kindergarten teacher, we went out to dinner to celebrate. Reagan ordered chicken tenders and fries. It was served on a GIANT piece of lettuce. After Reagan was finished, she picked up the lettuce, started fanning her face and said, “I do declare.” Full southern accent too.

Tonight when getting the girls ready to go to bed, Emmy started spilling water. Reagan started yelling, “Daddy! Mayonnaise! Mayonnaise!” Wynn just looked at her…”It’s May Day! May Day!”

:)

Reagan and Emmy both loved the dress up box at Auborn’s house. I wish I had a picture of Emmy the Viking. It was funny.

I’m trying to talk Reagan into being a pirate with Emmy for Halloween. So far it’s a no go. :(
