Rea has seemed just a smidge jealous of Emmy the last few days, but this proves that she loves her any way.  Emmy took a nice long nap in Wynn’s office today, so I was able to give Rea some quality Mama time.  That seems to have helped the jealousy.  Plus, Wynn took her to the park yesterday to fly a kite.  She loved it.  It was too cold for Emmy and I to go with them.  Hopefully we’ll have another windy day soon, so we can go too and take pictures.  You know me…I have to document it all.  smile

Now that Emmy’s focus has gotten better, she’s really been enjoying her animal play mat.  She likes to bat at the animals, although sometimes I wonder if she feels like she’s being attacked.  This was always a favorite toy of Rea’s…and still is for that matter.  If Emmy’s on it playing, she wants to be playing with her.

a room of my very own

I forgot to blog about this yesterday, but Emerson is now sleeping in her room.  She really seems to like it, but then again she seems to be able to sleep any where.  smile

smile!

Emerson reminds me so much of Reagan.  Sometimes, Wynn and I call them “Pete and Repeat.” Wynn says that they look so much alike that it’s like having twins 2 1/2 years apart.

Sometimes I wish I could add sound to a photo.  Anyone who’s been around Rea for any length of time should know the sound she’s making here.  smile Poor Emmy…nobody likes to have their head palmed.

I got the leap frog out of the attic yesterday.  Emerson is still a little unsteady in it, so I have her padded up with blankets, but she’ll be spinning around and playing in no time.  In the meantime, Reagan sure is enjoying playing with it again.

Don’t our girls look sweet?  I’m trying to give Rea the opportunity to hold Emmy a little more.  She’s doing better.  She loves Emmy and I think she really feels like a big girl when she gets to hold her.  Plus, she’s usually getting bombarded with…”don’t squeeze Emmy,” “no, not around her head,” “don’t jump around your sister,” etc.

well, you said to hold her…

well, you said to hold her...

I just didn’t say “how” to hold her.  We’ll just file this one under “outtakes.” It’s out of focus anyway, since I had to grab Emmy before she fell over any further.

i hate tummy time!!!

i hate tummy time!!!

Some things never change.  Emmy HATES tummy time.  We do it several times a day, and she gets mad every time.  Her pediatrician said that babies who usually hate tummy time aren’t big rollers, so we’ll see how that correlation pans out in a couple months.  In the meantime, more tummy time to strengthen those neck and back muscles.  Mean ol’ Mama.

will the lion sleep tonight?

will the lion sleep tonight?

Emmy the lion was just too cute not to take a close up photo.  I wish you could have seen her smiling big.  I tried and tried to get her to smile for the camera.  No such luck, but I like that it looks like she’s growling in this one.

This neck scarf was made for Rea by her Aunt Ann.  I bet she never would have thought it could also be used as a lion mane.  smile
