For some reason, I’ve always ended the year with a “booty shot” of Reagan. I really wanted to do the same with Emerson, and this is what we came up with…I think it would have been cuter if you could have seen Emmy’s little diaper and bare feet, but I didn’t want to strip her back down after she was finally warm again after the bath.
We managed to survive the first bath without any problems. Emmy wasn’t too happy about the whole thing, but she did well considering. Hopefully, she’ll warm up to the idea. She was really happy after I got her back in her little pjs and hat. Plus, now she smells really good.

Emmy just hates to be naked, so she was quite relieved when I wrapped her up in her hooded towel after her bath.
Emerson’s little belly button stump fell off the other day, so we were able to give her a real bath tonight. She has not been enjoying the little sponge baths at all, so I wasn’t sure how a real bath was going to be. She actually did better than I thought, but there was crying involved. Reagan was very curious about Emmy’s little bath tub and bath, so Wynn pulled a chair up to the breakfast bar so she could watch. She thought it was funny, but kept getting distracted by the m&ms on the bar.
I just can’t resist photographing baby feet. Let’s face it, you can’t get much cuter than those tiny little toes. I photographed Rea’s feet when she was a baby, so of course I had to do Emerson’s too. I saw a photo the other day that used the mom and dad’s wedding bands, so I thought I would do that this time. I really like how it turned out. Using our wedding rings really puts into perspective how small Emmy’s feet are. It also looks really cute in color…I’m just partial to the b&w.
Here’s Nana with both the girls. It was a challenge to get Rea to sit still long enough for a photo, but at least we got one of her looking at the camera and smiling.
Nana’s leaving tomorrow to go back home, and she wanted a couple pictures taken before she left. Here she is with Emerson.
Emerson had her first check up with the doctor today. Dr. Jones said she is perfect, but we already new that. We did have one little surprise though. It turns out that they mis-measured Emmy at the hospital. She’s actually 21 1/4 inches instead of 19 1/2 like we were told. That means that she was only 1/4 inch shorter than Rea and only 5 ounces lighter. Dr. Jones said I’m going to end up with two tall girls, so looks like I’ll be the munchkin of the family.
