get these out of my hair

get these out of my hair

See, I told you it only lasted for a couple minutes.  smile

update:  Now, I’m having to wear the green and blue bows in my hair.  Luckily, Wynn’s outside mowing, so there won’t be any photographic proof.  smile

one blue, one green

You wouldn’t know it by looking at the picture, but Rea really did want to wear these hair bows.  Of course, it only lasted for a couple minutes, and they were mismatched, but I’ll take what I can get.

magic beans…or are they?

About 30 minutes before Rea’s nap today, we had a “light snack” of miniature marshmallows.  Rea calls them “beans.” I have no idea why, but she does.  Anyway, apparently she thought they were magic beans because instead of napping she tried to climb a magic beanstalk…otherwise known as her nightstand.  Needless to say, I heard “HELP!…DOWN!” on the monitor.  I ran up to find her lying under it, with one leg in the bottom drawer.  She’s fine.  I think it just hurt her pride a little.  Hopefully, she’s learned not to climb any more beanstalks.  If not, no more magic beans for her.  smile

the big girl bed

Well, Rea loves her new big girl bed.  She’s doing so great in it.  She’s such a mama’s girl too.  Lately, she insists that I be the one to read to her and tuck her in at night.  Tonight we read a few books, rocked while I sang to her (she sings most of the songs with me now, which is just the cutest thing to listen to), and then I put her the center of her bed and gave her an animal.  She looked at me and patted the bed next to her and said “mama.” So, I cuddled up next to her, and she preceded to chat about her day.  She’s turning into such a little girl with stuff like that.  Now if I could just find my two missing make-up brushes she ran off with a few days ago.  smile

Reagan got her new big girl furniture today!  It’s hard to believe that we’re moving her up to a full size bed, but it made the most sense to move Rea’s old furniture over to the nursery for the baby.  Rea loves the new bed.  She was so funny.  She went around to every piece of furniture and opened every drawer and smelled it.  I guess she liked that new furniture smell.  Her furniture is a really pretty ivory, so I’d really like to paint her room a pale pink.  Her furniture came in a couple weeks sooner than expected, so I haven’t had a chance to even get paint samples yet.  Plus, Nana’s bringing her new comforter set next week.  She’s going to use our old cuddle up comforter until then, but I did buy her the softest pink sheets possible.  She’s going to think she’s sleeping on a cloud.  smile

dinosaur bite

Well, I have my very own little velociraptor running around the house this morning.  Rea’s been watching Curious George and loved the part when George makes the dinosaur skeleton collapse while running around the museum.  She started running around on her tiptoes and saying “dinosaur bite.” Then she bit (more like gummed) my arm and side of my face.  Apparently, dinosaurs lick too, because the little nut licked all the way up the side of my face.  Gross, but funny.

Tootsie learned this lesson the heard way today.  Reagan has been dying for Tootsie to swim with her, so Wynn finally put her in the pool with Rea today.  Tootsie hated it: Rea was tickled pink.  Tootsie was trying to climb up the slide in an attempt to get out, and Rea seized the opportunity and did a quick run down the slide.  This was the collision at the bottom.  Rea thought it was so funny.  smile

blowing kisses

blowing kisses

While I was taking some photos of Rea watching Wynn mow, I caught this one of her blowing him a kiss.  How sweet is that?!?!

Side note:  She’s wearing her dance leotard today because it was the clothing item of choice when she decided to strip down today when she was suppose to be taking her nap.  She got caught this time because I hear “I’m stuck!” over and over on the monitor.  I run upstairs to find her with her shirt off her head but pinning her arms back (she looked like a little penguin) and just her diaper on.  Needless to say, we’re never short on comedy around here.  smile

Rea loves to climb up in the chair and watch her daddy mow the backyard.  She’ll sit there watching him, just waiting for him to make another pass her direction and wave to her.

naked as a jay bird

Well, just call Reagan “the streak.” She didn’t want to take her nap today.  When I left her in her room, she was all tucked in her bed, had a little stuffed animal under one arm and was reading her Bible.  She looked so sweet lying there.  Over the course of the next half hour or so, I could tell she was reading louder and louder, and finally knew she was up playing.  I finished up what I’m doing downstairs, then I went up to get her.  I opened the door to find her standing there COMPLETELY naked.  She was quite proud of herself and was trying to figure out how to put on her Nemo swimsuit.  Her clothes and diaper were scattered across the room.  Some days, you just know that a nap just isn’t going to happen; today was one of those days.  So I put her glasses back on her, and she held my hand and walked, naked back downstairs, where I re-diapered her and put her Nemo swimsuit on her.  I figured if she was going to go to that much trouble, she might as well get to wear it the rest of the day.
