sneak attack

Let me just say that Rea is going to be a little scrapper.  I was working on the computer this evening and she was trying to hand me a toy.  She had come up from the side and I didn’t see her.  The next thing I know I’m writhing in pain from a blow to the eye.  It really wasn’t on purpose, but she hit me with a hard plastic toy on my brow bone just above my left eye.  My eye immediately started to tear.  Rea was trying to figure out what happened, and all I could say was “you hurt mama give me a minute.” Of course, Rea gets her feelings hurt and drops to the floor in tears.  All this happened in the two minutes Wynn had gone outside to put his truck in the garage.  He comes in the find Rea crying on the floor and me crying and holding my eye.  He looked at us and asked what happened, so I gave him the quick rundown.  He picks up Rea to comfort her and then asked to see my eye.  I get a “oooh it’s already swelling, let me get you some ice.” He takes off to kitchen and comes back with an ice pack.  Rea starts crying because she didn’t get any ice, so he goes back and fixes her a small cup of crushed ice.  She then climbs in the chair next to me and crunches on ice while I apply with my ice pack.  It’s pretty swollen, and Wynn says we’ll have to wait and see if I wake up with a black eye in the morning.  It was already turning blue earlier.  After the pain subsided I told Rea that I haven’t bought her birthday gift yet and would be taking that into consideration when I went to the store.  smile

dancing to your own beat

Rea got up from her nap this afternoon and was struck by the need to dance.  She dances a lot, but this time she even provided her own beat to dance to.  It went a little something like this…dance, toot, dance, toot toot, dance toot, dance toot toot.  So funny!!!

the calm after the storm

the calm after the storm

Rea missed her nap today.  The weather was so bad and we had so many tornado warnings that I went and got her and kept her downstairs with me…just in case we had to take cover.  You saw how hard she played today in the Texas tornado photo.  Bless her heart she crashed on me around 6:00p.

my little texas tornado

my little texas tornado

We had terrible storms come through the area today.  We even had reports of a funnel cloud that caused a lot of damage to two restaurants just a couple miles from our house.  As you can see, I had my own little 3 feet tall, copper-topped tornado hit my living room today.  I wish I had been able to get the entire path of destruction in the photo.  Trust me there was more…a lot more.  smile

upside down

After being “charged” by Reagan, I had to just sit on the floor with my legs stretched out for a few minutes.  She laid down on top of me.  I think it was her way of trying to make up for tackling me.  I held the camera up as high as I could reach and got this photo of her looking up.  At least you can see how cute her new pjs are in this one.

moooooove!!!!

tackle in progress

I was trying to get a cute photo of Rea in her new cow pajamas, when she decided to tackle me.  I squatting down and perched on my toes in the middle of the room; she was playing nicely over in the corner.  She turned and gave me this sweet little smile.  I think to myself “that’s the shot” and then she charged me!.  She knocked me flat on my back and she landed on top of me laughing.  Oh man did it hurt…I’m lucky I didn’t break a toe or ankle.  I’m still not sure how I managed to take a photo.  I know it’s super blurry, but note the little squinted eyes and snarl…even the little cow on her shirt looks mad!  smile

locked out

My heart still isn’t back in my chest yet, but I just had to go ahead and blog this.  Reagan locked me out of the house when I went to get the mail today.  Of course, Wynn wasn’t home and every door and window was locked.  Talk about going into a full on panic!  I ran to the neighbors and she grabbed her phone and phone book and we called a locksmith.  By this time, Rea is screaming at the back door.  The blinds were open so we could see her.  We then coaxed her to the front door, where I’m pleading for her to “let mama in.” She turned the deadbolt just enough that I was able to slam myself up against the door and force it open.  Of course by then, Reagan’s laughing and saying “outside.” We quickly called the locksmith back and told him not to come.

Let’s just say HUGE lesson learned today!!!!

now these are some hot wheels

now these are some hot wheels

Reagan got an early birthday present on Wednesday.  Her Uncle Tracy, Aunt Kristy, Matthew and Jonathon got her a tricycle.  It’s super cute.  It has streamers and a little storage area for her toys in the back.  This is Uncle Tracy giving her a push to help get her started.  She really likes it, but the lazy little joker likes for one of us to push her around while she dings the bell thats on the handle bars.

bunny ears

bunny ears

Wynn took Rea to see her GrandMimi while we were in Arkansas.  When they got back, Rea ran into the house holding a new little doll and wearing these bunny ears.  She loved them and didn’t take them off for the longest.  Every so often one of us would put them on just to see how long it would take her to notice.  She’d laugh and run and take them away from whoever was wearing them and put them back on.

dental floss

This morning while I was trying to put away some laundry, make the bed, etc. Reagan decided to explore the bathroom cabinets.  This isn’t unusual.  She loves my toothbrush and make up, but her latest obsession seems to be dental floss.  I heard this weird little noise, so I peaked around the corner and there she was just a yanking out dental floss.  She must have pulled out at least 20 feet before I got to her.  I guess I need to add dental floss to the grocery list.
