One thing I can say about living in Dallas…got to LOVE the snow!!! It didn’t snow for long and of course it didn’t stick, but I’m trying to make a big deal out of it any time it happens. We were getting Rea dressed this morning when I glanced out the window and saw it snowing. I immediately yell, “it’s snowing!” We quickly dressed Rea and grabbed our coats and ran outside. Reagan loved it!!!

We took Reagan to the park this afternoon with Chris, Erin and Connor. Rea had so much fun, and she even made a new friend. She met a little boy who is 2 that took her for a ride on his new john deere truck. They rode around together for a long time. They would ride by us and Rea would wave; it was like she was in her own little parade.

I love this photo! Wynn had walked by the piano and had started playing when Rea ran to join him. They stood playing for a few minutes then they sat down together. I was so glad I was able to get my camera and get this shot.

Reagan has discovered the joy of jumping up and down on the bed! I took her upstairs for her nap, and she ran to her bed, crawled up and started jumping. You should have seen the look on her face…she looked as though she had discovered a whole new world.
She’s growing up so fast. Her vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. Her newest words are Santa Claus, tree and kitty.

Rea got a red balloon at lunch today. She loved it. She was almost too distracted it eat, and of course, we had to bring it home with us. She would go running thru the house with it “chasing” her, she would put it up to her face and look thru it, and she would let it go and watch it hit the ceiling. Luckily in the new house, we have normal ceilings except for the vaulted entry. She would watch it bounce against the ceiling then run and jump to try and grab the string.
One time she let it go in the entry and immediately ran and got Wynn out of the office. She grabbed his hand and said “mone” (come on). She took him to the entry and pointed up for him to get it for her. He told her it was too high and showed her that he couldn’t reach it. Her response was “jump!”

I really think that Rea is going to love cooking like I do. This evening while I was cooking dinner, she came into the kitchen and got her letter magnets off the frig and began to “cook” them in Tootsie’s water bowl. She even got a measuring cup and small wooden spoon out of the drawer to help her cook. She loved to use the spoon to stir her soup, and I hate to say it…but, I even caught her taste testing her soup a couple times. So I guess we’ll just say that she did a great job cooking, but failed the health inspection.

I was having a little trouble getting my flash to fire correctly while taking a few photos of Rea today. As you can see from the photo, she was very puzzled by all the blinking and flashing it was doing. I guess it’s time to replace the batteries.

Rea loves playing with her little tea set. This afternoon she put most of the pieces on her tray and brought it to me. She usually likes for me to “serve” the tea. After we played together for a little while, she took it over by the kitchen and served herself another cup or two.
If the photo looks a little odd, I played around a little with the saturation to try and give it a more “washed-out” look. I’m still not sure if it worked or not, but I thought I’d post it anyway.

Well…it finally happened…Reagan tried to ride Tootsie today. She’s so funny! Poor little Tootsie was minding her own business and playing with a toy, when all of the sudden the idea struck Reagan. Reagan walked up to her and straddled her and started to sit down on her. As soon as Tootsie realized what was happening she dropped to the floor and crawled forward enough to get away from Rea. You could tell that Rea was a little disappointed that her great idea didn’t work out, but at least Wynn and I got a good laugh.

This is a little Reagan story that happened a few days ago. I decided I would post it, since everyone I’ve told has thought it was so funny. Last Saturday, Rea, Tootsie and I laid down together and took a nap upstairs while Wynn was out running some errands. When he got home, Tootsie heard him come in and really wanted to go downstairs to see him. She walked around on me trying to get me up, but I didn’t move so then she walked over to Rea on the bed and flapped her ears really hard in Reagan’s face. (Tootsie learned a long time ago that if she wants to get us up all she has to do is get Rea up first.) Rea immediately woke up and started crying. I quickly let Tootsie out of the room, but wasn’t able to calm Reagan back down. After several minutes of her crying, she finally got it together enough for me to take her downstairs. We walked into the living room, and Rea saw Tootsie sitting a few feet away on the carpet. Rea instantly walked over to Tootsie and squatted down and popped her on to top of the head. Wynn looked at me in disbelief; all I could say was, “hey, she earned that one.” We’ll just have to wait and see if Tootsie learned her lesson about interrupting Reagan’s naps.
